Where I just moved from and spent most of my life: Baltimore.
-Well, there's a lot. The one that really gets to me is how some people say the Westside is the worst and someone else then says the Eastside is a travesty. I grew up in the Eastside. There was some bad stuff that went on. From what I saw though, the Westside looked really scummy.

Where I am now: a community right outside of Baltimore.
-There's a bunch of strips of stores, fast food restaurants, other places to eat, etc. It's like a special little shopping city secluded in itself an not completely busy or ravaged with large sums of people.
-It was founded by an Irish immigrant int the 19th Century and the community bears his last name.

So yeah, that's all I have for now about my places. :D

The singer/songwriter Burl Ives lived most of his life in my hometown until his death in 1995, and Hey Arnold! creator Craig Bartlett went to my old HS.

One year, the local high school in my home town made headlines nationwide (and in a few other countries), because some of the seniors said in their yearbook that, after graduation, they wanted to be brothel workers, drug dealers, strippers, welfare beneficiaries or even homeless. Knowing what my home town has become, I'm not actually surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.

No, it closed in March 2013 due to lack of funding to keep it open.

A local person who is rather wealthy is preparing to build and open a new grocery store in town. It would take very little for him to drive the current grocery store out of business since the owner is very cash strapped and barely gets by as it is.

Instead of just driving him out of business, the guy building the new grocery store bought the old grocery store so he can close it. Instead of facing certain bankruptcy, the owner of the old grocery store is making a profit on the deal.

Sometimes, I really love this town.

My city, Auckland, is built around many extinct volcanic mountains. (At least we hope they are extinct!)

Village:
- Gives its name to a type of shortcake with caraway seeds
- Is famed for it's duck and chicken
- Is the location of 'Chingle Hall", which, built in 1230, is reputedly the most haunted house in England.
- Traces of salt have been found in the roof timbers of the church; they are thought to have originated from Viking longships.

Nearby (small) town:
- Was named by Oliver Cromwell

Nearest large town/city:
-Was where the Industrial Revolution started; the first steam-powered factory apparatus was invented there.

Rather weird - Off of the SW and 3rd location for Voodoo Doughnut, there's a Hentai theater. They also have the Rose Festival in the same area. 8O
