There was a racy song, circa 1972, known as "My Ding-A-Ling," by Chuck Berry. I didn't understand the significance of it at that time. They used to call clumsy-nutty people "ding-a-lings" in those days. Of course, it had an even more racy meaning, which Chuck used in abundance.

Then there was the more subtle "Brand New Key," by Melanie, also circa 1972. The girl had the roller skates, the boy had the key. Keys were used to open roller skates until polyurethane came out in the later 1970s.

I wish I could post links.....You would like that song. It's kind of a feminist anthem--the woman making the first move.

People used to have candlelight vigils during Melanie's concerts. She was also well-liked by LBGT people in those days. There's another song that was, perhaps, a bit more popular. The vigils would be to this song: "Lay down (Candles in the Rain)," done in 1970. "Lay-down, Lay-down, Lay-on-down."

It had a very gospel feel to it.

I remember it now. Great song! Are you sure you can't post links. You go the youtube page, copy the page address, but take the "s" out.

The most fun songs to sing along to are complete nonsense. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you nonsense:
