First off I know that there are a lot of factors in whether people like hugs and other forms of contact. There is no judgment if you aren't into it. But I am curious how many of you are fans of hugs and similar displays of affection.

As someone that may have Asperger's and definitely has anxiety and stuttering... socializing is hard for me. At about thirteen I was getting on better in church though. We'd do this greeting thing after a song or two. During this short break I'd go around. Some people would hug me. Being able to hug people without worrying about a complicated conversation was wonderful for me. It made me not feel lonely. Also it gave me a chance to show that I did care. A fact they may not have known otherwise because of how little I talk.

Even now I really like hugs and general affection. Recently it was my great grandma's 98th birthday. I never know what to say. But when I sat by her she just held my hand. We held hands and ate cake. It made me very happy.

Does physical bonding make you feel good? Do you ever wish you could just hug someone without going through the tricky talking thing?

YES that is my favourite thing to do.

I love hugging my friends, but only one really lets me, because we are all guys. The one that likes me hugging him has autism, and the others don't, if that is relevant.

Yes, and yes.

I don't tend to like to hug guys. I like hugging ladies, though.

Sometimes I get the urge to hug (using my hands) someone's neck real tight! Does that count?

I love hugs as long as I initiate them or I know they're coming. Surprise hugs are not cool. Also tight hugs are the best ^^

Yes. Every day. Literally. Usually right before I fall asleep, and right when I wake up. I end & start my days thinking thoughts like these.

I think about the people I love, friends, God kids etc and how nice it would be to be able to just hug and hold them in that moment. I think loving thoughts about them and send them out into the universe wishing them well & it makes me smile.

We all lead busy lives, so I don't get to see my favourite people all that often, but pretty much every time I do I get an opportunity to hug or hold each of them and it's wonderful. 8)

I have to agree with this. All kidding aside from my previous post. Just been WAY too long since I have had the pleasure of giving/receiving a hug -sigh-

I'm also a hugger and I love to show people that I care for them by hugging them. :O)

Yes. If I ever met Joan Jett, Boy George, and Sinead O'Connor, 3 of my favorite people, I would just want to hug them.

I appreciate hugs from my mom and my youngest brother, but I'm usually ok without a hug from anyone else unless it's a notable occasion.

Generally, contact with others tends to gets "wiped" off afterwards. Though, I enjoy high fives with mostly anyone, as long as your fingernails are trimmed. I've been trying to teach the dogs to high five instead of shake, but they don't seem to be catching on. lol
