After 16 years of not having heard of Aspergers I've learned to adapt to facial expression etc and I can understand it to an extent. The thing which i'm concerned about is whenever I show my emotions on the outside (confusion, happiness and on often occasion laughter) It does not come naturally and I am forcing the expression upon myself. I do not feel like I should be doing this and I am just acting the expression rather than naturally showing it.

Does anyone else feel like this?

I find smiling and laughing totally normal and instinctive, but I don't like having to explain to people why I smiled or laughed, or why I did it so extremely. Isn't that MY business, not theirs? Why do people look at me afterwards as if I had better give them an explanation? I'm in a city where you're not allowed to smile, or everyone stares at you weirdly. So I actually hide it. I smile inside instead, even though I hate to have to hide it unnaturally like that.
