How to stop fake leather from squeaking

I got a new satchel/purse the other day which I really really like but it's made of fake leather and it squeaks when I move it such as opening it or adjusting the strap. Does anyone know how to get fake leather to stop squeaking? Could the squeaking gradually go away through use?
