Hello,

Using the 'QUOTE' option is more likely to take into account previous posters intentions, than just applying the 'REPLY' option so often. Hence, discussion threads may remain more focused.

From personal experience with Aspergers, this is an awesome bit of wisdom to reassess an ongoing discussion, and "dovetailing" quotes into previous responses; to better reflect the intentions of main topics. We feel that our threads are important when our responses are quoted. Same important wisdom to focus on the "give and take" of live discussions i.e. to listen.

Posting to other FORUMS (in addition to the 'General Autism Discussion FORUM' in WP - that receives optimum readership/follow-up response rates; without topic threads dropping to the bottom of 'page one' too quickly, are other options to call attention to important topics e.g., the 'In-Depth Adult Life Discussion FORUM'

On the other hand it's really annoying to see a wall of quotes.

Only PERFECT understanding of communication and PERFECT empathy with the OPs post along with PERFECT discipline in resisting vomiting out thousands of "exceptions" and "personal anecdotes," plus a ton of other things done exactly right, will create a linear thread.

Otherwise, we're just human, and we'll need to weed out the garbage and negotiate meaning.

It would behoove us to trim the comments we quote down to the part that is related to our response.
