Who would you name as the most brilliant actor or actress of the last 2 decades? You can name more than one by all means

Leonardo Di Caprio is among my favourites for the sheer breadth of his performances and the command he has over his characters. Im also developing a real affection for Sean Penn. I havent seen a film of his I havent admired

Robert DeNiro I think is the greatest living actor, though for the younger generation of actors, I'd have to say Leonardo DiCaprio. I'd also say Christoph Waltz and Viggo Mortensen are up there, too.

Actresses:

Meryl Streep; then, a tie between a whole bunch of British actresses, to include: Emma Thompson (friggin' GENIUS!!), Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Julie Waters, and Keira Knightley.

Actors:

Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, John Goodman, Al Pacino.....

I haven't really seen alot of the younger actors, but I'll definitely go with Leonardo DiCaprio.

What is the purpose of your question AA? All three are so highly regarded that it seems almost like you're implying that such a film exists? If so I would definitely go to see it but im not a big fan of the Spielbergs and Scoreseses. These big directors create wonderful flowing scenes and are the "unseen hand" but I prefer the work of the Coen brothers Carruth's work (On Upsteam Colour) and directors like Lynch whose work is more unpredictable.

Plus, I don't know if the late Marlon Brando qualifies to be included in this current generation of actors, being that his heyday had been quite a while ago.
