ISIS started as the active resistance in Iraq.
Everyone wanted the Americans to leave. They were also the tribal forces that aided the Americans in killing Al Kiada in Iraq. When Syria started they went, joined the various groups, found out who they could deal with, who was CIA, then took over.
Fighting Assad was not cheap, the fighters were not self funding.
Al Nustra were considered the best fighters, the most religious, and Al Kaida in Iraq and Syria. They were taking towns and supplies from the FSA.
So suddenly there is ISIL who are taking over for religion, are the new best fighters, many other groups join them, they have lots of guns and ammo, food, and when they capture an area, they set up schools, health clinics, police, food, fuel, water.
They are also showmen. The Al Nustra and FSA started chopping off heads and eating hearts. ISIL adds cruxifiction, and videos of the mass slaughter of their captives.
They out did the groups they were fighting.
Assad did not send his most loyal and best fighters to the eastern desert, it was conscripts he did not trust. The Officers took the last plane out, the conscripts were slaughtered. They were in the way.
ISIL advances and breaks the supply lines of all other groups, in the north, and along the Jordan border, where the guns come in. In the north, they release a vidio showing them playing in the surf. just south of the Turkish border. Assad advances, ISIL vanishes, Assad takes what had been terrorist controlled supply lines from Turkey.
While claiming to be Assads enemy, they kill and break up all the other enemys, do so in a way that makes Assad look moderate, if not liberal.
Like northern Iraq, there are Kurds in northeastern Syria, looking to take over dams, oilfields, refining, pipelines, and anything else they can steal. Suddenly ISIL regroups there, takes possession of everything, including the military bases, and pushes the Kurds north. Kurds had been selling oil to Israel through Turkey.
Then ISIL all get new track suits, lots of flags, all basic black, pivots right and slaughters Kurds all the way to Mosul and beyond. Now they are ISIS. They capture a whole lot of weapons, and advance to the outskirts of Bagdad. Along the way they rearm Tikret and Falluja. The American puppet government kept arms out of that area. Now they have the best.
ISIS then shows up back in Syria, and storms a Kurd town. Now as the Islamic State. Assad does not notice. No help for the Kurds.
The Gulf States were played into funding and supplying the weapons, they did not know who they were funding. The same for the Americans, the British. ISIL members joined the groups, and when they had a warehouse of goods, they took it.
The same worked in Mosul, a billion in arms, millions in cash, American from the banks. Kurds and Shia fled. They are not occupying Mosul, they liberated it from the American puppet government.
America uses air power, ISIS takes a Kurd City. The Americans are being the ISIS air force, ISIS does not want the city, they want to destroy it. It is giving them targets, so they do not bomb the homeland, Falluja, Taikret.
The Turks have tanks lined up along the border, so no armed Kurd gets across. Expect other Kurd Cities to be attacked. They are drawing fire away from their homeland. Put a black flag on it, the Americans will bomb it. They picked the farist places so Americans are flying deep into Syria. Someday one will crash.
Iran and Syria with Russian help are getting to learn the electronic signature of the latest American aircraft. China was invited to the party. So much to learn, so useful. A crashed F-22 would be a prize. Some of the bombs are duds. Collect them, trade them with your friends.
The Saudis got Halliburton to overthrow Saddam. The Saudis funded having Russian children killed. the Saudis funded the overthrow of Syria, they have a lot to answer for.
