I have really good news for the Love and Dating contingency. Actually......I have been meaning to share this news with my WrongPlanet brothers and sister for some time, since October 7.

So, without further ado......I met my husband right here on WrongPlanet through a personal ad he placed last Spring 2014 and......we were Just Married in Crete, Greece here in the lovely 'Venetian Loggia' on October 7 2014!! !! :D :D

http://www.heraklion.gr/en/citizen/city ... -hall.html

This has been a truly crazy, dream-come-true for 2 long-suffering, lonely Aspies who were about to die of broken hearts. To now find, in each other, the one unique individual who meets the description of everything we've been holding out for all of these years has restored our faith in the natural correctness of all things.

Though in our 40s, neither of us have ever married before or had any kids.....Now,it feels like the minute I took a swing in the autistic community, I've knocked the ball completely out of the park, in finding my lovely, dear new husband! He is the best choice I've been presented with in life...the obvious choice!

Anyway, we think very fondly of our Wrong Planet origins, and wish all of you exactly the same good luck that we have had. We feel very smart now, for "holding out" and waiting for true love ALL those years.....with that specific Right Person. We hope you will make a point of finding the correct person who can love you and give you all the loving support and partnership you need. The desire to get married really never hit me before I met my perfect Aspie match, and I hope the same will happen for you, when the time is tight.

Congrats, newlyweds.

That gives me a good feeling to know that my one and only could be on here. I think I might give it a shot.

Congratulations on your marriage.

I was in Crete in 2013. Stayed about ten miles east of Heraklion.

That's great, ForeignObject! I think shyness can be a big problem for many on this forum. If you're not daring enough to write a profile, you can always answer somebody else's like I did. :p

Muchos gracias! Our hopes for the future are completely transformed by this.....It is such a huge comfort to finally find someone like him after all these years struggling alone. I don't recommend letting your singleness drag on into your 40s....being alone without someone to love and care for you, for too many years, can really take a toll on your mental health. Having a strong bond such as ours has refreshed our outlook on the future and relieved both of our chronic loneliness and depression.
