The best counsellor I know writes stories in her spare time. They can work like dreams to help make sense of things. Maybe somebody is afraid of winding up as the thinly-disguised villain of a novel.

Sounds like a perfectly healthy thing to spend your time on. Writing is a wonderful outlet. Keep it up!

I'm sorry your mum feels that way. Maybe she just wants you to do more of the necessary housework. Or maybe she doesn't care about that and simply doesn't understand writing, writers, hobbies, or imagination. Some people don't have any imagination, and they can't "imagine" what other people are doing with theirs. At any rate, it's not worth fighting about. Once you're out of her home, you can do whatever lets you survive.

Why did you bring up this old post from 2014?

Any consideration for creative writing?
