Shutting myself in my room and not talking to anyone.

...Oh wait, I do that year-round.

I don't like celebrating holidays. Or anything, really.

Gingerbread mansion? Complete with an indoor swimming pool, garage of sport cars, and all?

Solstice evening, either ALONE or on the road, to spend AT LEAST an hour in peaceful freakin' solitary reflection.

I like making cookies and doing stuff with my kids, too.

And decorating my MIL's stupid f*****g Christmas tree.

And making decorations.

But don't tell anybody. They all think I hate EVERYTHING about Christmas, not just the ridiculously commercial and phony socializing parts. I have no intentions of disabusing them of that notion.

Christmas eve: Being with my family.

Eating pork roast with sauerkraut and potatoes.
Ice cake for afters.

Then opening and exchanging pressies.
Watch something nice on TV or a DVD.

I don't care about decorations or tree (a tradition I hate, killing a tree just to have it inside for a few days is insane), or snow, or relatives (which I thankfully don't see Christmas either). And thankfully none of us are religious, so no church.

Both everyday life and holidays were always about me, my parents, my maternal grandparents, our pets. No one else. That's why I've always loved the holidays. No one but my loved ones there. Of course now my grandparents and my pets are all gone, so it's just the 3 of us.
Those few hours of cozy family time are very precious to me.

Oh, yeah, how could I forget "baking cookies". Unfortunately, I've already started on them, and I am NOT happy with the weight gain, already!! LOL

It's just my daughter and myself.

We watch dvd's all day long and then have a big meal at the night time.

I couldn't live without pigging out on sweets and chocolate at Christmastime. I'm waiting patiently for some Quality Street...

I take my pleasure by stuffing myself to the max on all the unhealthy foods. And I love colorful lights. Like seriously.

Halloween: Dressing up as anything you want and candy and carving jack-o-lanterns (I carve more than just triangle eyes and noses on my pumpkins).

Christmas: PRESENTS!! ! :D I also like Christmas lights and I put up a faux tree and decorate it. Roast turkey and all kinds of junk is great, too. My family isn't very religious so we don't do stuff like go to midnight mass or whatever.

Easter: Spring, chocolate, pretty pastel colors, and bunny rabbits. What's not to like about it? :albino: Like I said above, we don't go to church or anything. We also have a turkey dinner on Easter Sunday.

Canada day: Celebrating the birthday of the greatest, whitest, northiest country there is, dressing in red and white, proudly waving our flags. I even created a cartoon anthropomorphic maple leaf and made her into a doll, which I carry in a maple-leaf backpack on this particular day. :)
