I really liked it. Now I want to go watch some more bond films.

Begin with the Bond films starring Roger Moore.

They are ridiculous and wonderfully campy.

Good to know

Songbird - Covid-23 is running wild and Los Angeles has been locked down for three years. Young adult lovers who have never physically met have to deal with it, I will leave it that.

It has gotten terrible revues with many saying it is untimely or too soon. To me, it was not terrible at times especially the first half tedious and certainly, you have your familiar tropes, not untypical these days.

Last night my bride was elsewhere so I watched:

District 9 [2009]
-=-"You are not welcome here."

In case you are unfamiliar with it:
-=- It has a Bradbury Award.
-=- It has a Saturn Award for "Best International Picture."
-=- It has four Oscar nominations—including best Picture.
-=- Maltin gave it ***½—the same as Forbidden Planet [1956] and The Terminator [1984].
-=- Its IMDb rating is 7.9—The Day the Earth Stood Still [1951] only has a 7.7.

What I'm trying to say is, it's not just an excellent Science Fiction movie, it is an excellent movie.

Oh...why did I wait until my bride was not around to watch it? Well, it is rated R "for bloody violence and pervasive language", and she was fine with that. But when we were watching it in the theater she did a bit of dry heaving...having the star character's fingernails falling off and having him eat cat-food bothered her.

It is one of my favorite science fiction movies. It is excellent.

And I look forward to District 10 (and I'm not the only one!).

Last night I watched:

The Navy vs. the Night Monsters [1966] Also known as Night Crawlers and combinations of the two titles.
-=-"All-Devouring Carnivorous Trees That Move On Their Own Roots!"

This would be a poor 1950s Sci-Fi B-movie...if it hadn't been made in 1966.

IMDb rating of 3.6 and the Maltin review was:

-=-+-=-Navy vs. the Night Monsters, The (1966)
-=-+-=-C-90m.  BOMB   D: Michael Hoey.   Mamie
-=-+-=-Van Doren,  Anthony Eisley,  Pamela Mason,
-=-+-=-Bill Gray,  Bobby Van,  Walter Sande,  Ed-
-=-+-=-ward Faulkner,  Phillip Terry. 1) Look at the
-=-+-=-title. 2) Examine the cast. 3) Be aware that
-=-+-=-the plot involves omnivorous trees. 4) Don't
-=-+-=-say you weren't warned.

A few of the actors added a bit of "camp" to their performances—which sort of looked out of place since these were the exceptions. A few of the actors did not appear to be trying very hard—who can blame them. And the crawling tree monsters were terrible—they looked like they had been made by some untalented teenagers who'd been given just a few dollars for each monster.

Sonic the Hedgehog.

In a word...awful. Title character extremely annoying. Film full of nonsense that fails to add to or advance the story.

Constantine: City Of Demons.

R rated DC animated movie about sorcerer, Constantine, and his mission to save his friend's child from having her soul stolen by an all powerful demon. The ending isn't a happy one.
For those with a liking for dark entertainment, this is for you.

That looks like my sorta thing and the entire film is on YouTube, so I'll definitely be watching it! Mamie Van Doren looks very Jayne Mansfield....
