Recently we watched My Spy, with Dave Bautista as a spy who is tricked by a 9 year old girl into working with her. Pretty good, funny and cute. Bautista is a likeable muscular softie in the mould of The Rock, Arnie etc in their kids films.

Ammonite, about Mary Anning who discovered lots of important fossils including a complete Plesiosaur skeleton. Unfortunately the film focused on an imaginary love story instead. I wish it had shown more of Mary's work and conflict with the male scientists who claimed her discoveries as their own.

Bring It On, about a cheerleader who is forced to move house and change schools, ending up in a tough school in a rough neighbourhood. She manages to get in with their cheerleading group and of course all their lives are transformed. This film was vilified but it is in fact pretty good, showing the nature of female friendships.

Jumanji (the 21st century version) It was much better than I thought. The body swap showed how although people judge others by their appearance, if you get to know people, you end up accepting them as they are. I especially liked how

We both thought it was a great movie.

It was also a beautiful movie...very polished and a classy style.

It reminded me of Dark City [1998] and Watchmen [2009].

Definitely recommended if you have any interest, or even toleration, for this genre.

You are so right, it definitely had a dark city feel to it, which is one of my favorites.

I was pleasantly surprised by Patterson's take on batman. Actually, all the acting was great.

Also, can we talk about the car? I think it was my favorite batmobile!

I thought the Batmobile, like character development, was kept unobtrusive. Good, but not calling for attention.

After watching the film i don't think I know much about the Batmobile, Alfred, or Bruce Wayne.

Morbius.

Not the best MCU movie. But hey, Morbius fights Dr. Who!
The best part were the two post credit scenes that include the Vulture.

Last night I watched:

Gangsters, Guns & Zombies [2012]
<=>"They owned the streets... until now!"

Definitely not the best zombie movie. Definitely not the worst. Adequate, unambitious, and OK to watch.

Dracula's Daughter (1936)

Rather patchy sequel to the 1931 film which starred Bela Lugosi. Some clumsy humour and wooden acting, but also some more interesting scenes involving the vampire woman Countess Zaleska (Gloria Holden) and her assistant Sandor (Irving Pichel).
