Brits: What do you think of this?

An American trans woman is seeking to move to Britain so she can get sex reassignment surgery for free on the NHS:

And perhaps not just for Brits, but for anyone who lives in a country that provides free or low-cost sex reassignment surgery in its national healthcare system.

Personally I think its more disgusting that we incinerate billions of pounds every year on MP's expenses, banker's bailouts or on maintaining a the white elephant that is the trident defence system up in Faslane Scotland. A white elephant that has only one use (the destruction of our species) and does nothing but divert funds that could be spend on freeing up things like disabled welfare costs or university tuition fees. I guess thats just me though.
I say fair play to this woman. If more people from the USA come to the UK for health treatment it only goes to prove that the privatised health care model only serves to fail the least among us. Anyway, as for the cost of her operation at least its money not being spent to kill or orphan innocent children in other countries. Thats the way i look at it.

Good luck to her, but that isn't really how the NHS works. She'll need to get a visa and become a legal resident.
I'd be surprised - although perhaps I shouldn't be - if the costs of SRS in the US (or another country - Thailand?) are higher than the costs of relocating from the US to the UK. Wouldn't Canada be a better bet?
