Mixed Receptive-Expressive Language Disorder (formally receptive and expressive auditory disorder)
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency ... 001545.htm

This is a place to discuss the disorder, your experiences, & give advice.

My language development was very poor growing up. My words would come out scrambled, like word salad. Receptively, it was like a bundle of electrical wires that couldn't be straightened. My language was 2% at 2.5 yrs, 20% at 5 yrs, but 87% at 6 years. I did one year at a special preschool to work on my language which brought it to 87%. I did two forms of speech therapy through 5th grade & one continued through 7th grade. I still struggle with language in some ways. Its mainly an issue during class lectures. I compensate by sitting in the front, typing my notes, & getting access to the professor's notes.

Nothing. It's part of my accommodations through the university's disability services.
