I had a wonderful job that started as a fraud analyst for an Internet e-commerce company. It was all about analyzing credit card transactions to spot things that didn't make sense. That grew into areas involving consumer protection, anti-money-laundering, anti-terrorist financing, and a rather large range of technically interesting areas that require detailed analysis of specific data and applying abstract reasoning. I became the company's chief investigator and compliance officer, a position they created to make use of my unique abilities. I was extremely fortunate to have higher-ups who recognized my special skills and let me use them for the good of the company, while not requiring me to strictly adhere to some of the things that most of my NT fellow employees were required to do: especially dealing with people live on the phone. That was the worst part of that job, for me, the live dealings on the phone. Luckily, as my responsibility with the company grew, I was allowed to let that part slip while I dealt more with cooperating with the FBI and created corporate policies for government compliance and anti cybercrime practices.
I think the position of fraud analyst, or anti money-laundering specialist, can be a very good one for someone with Asperger's.
