leo kanner was born chaskel leib kanner to orthodox jewish parents. chaskel is a yiddish version of ezekiel, he apparently hated the sound of it.
one of the few who pronounced "kanner" right (like "connor") consistently, was a irish asylum patient who called him "father o'connor".
