And here's the scene where he first references MLP, while eating horse meat in Finland:

I think it's pretty awesome that he's a fan. :D I know some people don't like the idea of eating horse meat, but don't forget that there's a difference between real horses and the talking, candy colored variety. :P As much as I like horses, I wouldn't be opposed to trying horse meat. I eat pork, and I know that pigs are just as intelligent as dogs, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying it. As long as it's humanely raised and slaughtered, where is the moral objection?

I think it is mostly the English-speaking countries that have a taboo against eating horses. It is not uncommon in Europe, I used to eat horse steaks as a kid, they are pretty similar to the more common beef steaks.

I'm pretty sure horse meat is popular in Quebec, come to think about it. Quebec is practically like its own country within Canada, because they mainly speak French, and the culture as a whole is a lot different. I've heard a few people say that it's more like a part of Europe than a part of Canada.

Anyway, back on topic, more evidence! XD

Well, Quebec is French-speaking so maybe they inherited their cuisine partly from the French too. Of course the French are known to eat anything that walks, or hops.... or crawls. Not sure they even have frogs and snails in Canada. In my mind I have a stereotypical image of ice sheets and snow, not a place where crawlies live :D
Funny you consider the French-speaking Canadians more European than the English-speaking Canadians.
I don't really know anything of My Little Pony, except that I saw the 80s version of the show when I was a kid.
