I am an 18 year old girl on the spectrum, and have been to a few different schools specializing in Asperger's and LD's, and have noticed an odd pattern. I may be totally off-base, but it seems to me that most of the people I know on the spectrum have birthdays that fall between June and August, (possible September), with June, (and maybe the last day or two of May) being the greatest concentration. Has anybody else noticed this pattern, or know why this might be? What month does your birthday fall in, (this is the internet, so you don't need to say the full date if you don't want to reveal personal information that could identify you).

According to the CDC, summer is the top season for births in general (at least in the U.S.).

Mine is in late March. I've not noticed this pattern, but I don't know many other people with ASD.

I've heard that people with schizophrenia were more likely to have a mother who had a bout of flu at a certain time in her pregnancy. Since flu is seasonal, this resulted in more people with schizophrenia born in certain months. But I can't remember the specifics.

November, here. There are MANY members of my family whom I suspect are on the spectrum----October birthdays, March, April, September, and another one in November. There are others, but I can't think of their birthdays, right now.....

I don't believe there is any relationship whatsoever. September the 16th is the "top" birth date in the USA:

Like the USA, the most births in New Zealand cluster in September, even though our seasons are the opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere:

Possibly the Christmas holidays are one reason why there are more births in September.
