Today I heard a story where a family was staying at a hotel where there were a lot of German and Austrian people, and the father mentions to the kids that he brought along their Nintendo Switch while they were at a buffet, to which the kids reply loudly "OUR SWITCH?. OUR SWITCH?" and he says "OUR SWITCH!", and they're goofing around and don't think people are paying much attention since they're coming and going to get food, but the mother whispers to the father that it sounds like they're saying "Auschwitz". And then the dad feel royally embarrassed for saying something like that around a bunch German and Austrian people.

I didn't really know what Auschwitz was, so I looked it up on Wikipedia. And then I was...Oh.

And then I was disturbed but fascinated when I read about what life was like for the prisoners there. If you can call it living.
