That "vocal fry" is when a person's voice, especially a young woman's, gets all "creaky" at the ends of their sentences. Apparently this is some kind of new trend among young women in the US for some reason. I never really noticed it until someone mentioned it, but no that I have it just makes them sound all tired and submissive. Then I started wondering if my own voice sounded that way, but it sounds pretty clear to me. I think. Just occasionally a teeny bit creaky, maybe? Could be just my age, or the heat and humidity? I really don't want to sound like my vocal cords need oiling.
