When I was much younger I used to quietly repeat everything I said once or twice. I thought nobody noticed/nobody could hear it until another kid pointed it out (I was 9). I still do it occasionally. I think maybe I do it so I can hear what I said and how it sounded and to make sure it made sense. Anyone else do this? Does this count as perseveration? I'm not sure I'd say it's compulsive...

I know that when I'm tired, and doing mechanical tasks, I will repeat the same conversations with myself about what I am doing. It's sort of this strange echo in my head.

I always talk to myself about what I'm doing. I kind ofproject myself into another part of the room so it feels like talking to someone else - someone quiet and attentive who is absolutely fascinated by every word I say. lol. :P

Yes, I do that, but usually it just echoes around my head, I don't say it out loud.

Oh thank God. I thought I was the only one who did that! I do it all the time. I think I'm practicing composing the right words (I have trouble with that). Or sometimes it feels like I'm preaching.
