I was talking about feeling overwhelmed with my son and I illustrated the way it works for me this way

Normally, my brain keeps things organized like this:

But when I get overwhelmed it suddenly transforms into this:

My son said, "It's a little bit like that at school, but really more like this--

I go into class and I want it to be like this:"

But then I get overwhelmed and it becomes more like this:

I find that knot deeply frustrating, but his image looks just a little worse. It was an interesting way of exchanging perceptions.

Brilliant way for you two to communicate about your feelings with each other. Thanks for sharing.

How old is your son again? I'm looking forward to when we are able to communicate a little better about feelings and difficulties. Always working on it, but he's still so young.
