My joke-telling is hit or miss too, mostly helped by my brothers teaching me humor. Sometimes i make people laugh with my humor, sometimes i tell a joke that's a bit too bizarre and they all stare at me like i'm a weirdo. Er. awkward.

I daren't tell jokes of any length any more, because I find it hard to stop myself overexplaining the story and going off at tangents, which delays the punchline and tries people's patience. I prefer giving deadpan one-liners, because if nobody laughs then I can pretend it wasn't meant to be funny. Paradoxically, people often laugh their heads off at what they take to be one-liners from me, when I thought I was just saying something very slightly amusing.
