Wrongplanet is fine, I just want a forum with different features. I used to have an account here two years ago, but I forgot my old password.

The new forum, I would call it WrongVillage:

1. It would have a mixture of pro-neurodiversity and pro-treatment forums.
2. It would be less moderated; more open discussion would be permitted.
3. Front-page articles would be updated more frequently.
4. Users would have access to detailed forum stats.

Any other suggestions?

You do mean "website", don't you?

"WrongPlanet" is a website.

"General Discussion" is a forum.

"General Autism Discussion" is a subforum.

"I was thinking of creating an alternative forum, here's why" is a thread.

And this message is a post.

I suggest that you get your terminology straight.

Why do you want to make another forum?

We are on a spectrum so some could use more choice, different emphasis etc.

Good advice, but I think it would have been more effective had it been confined to the first line. The rest of it merely rubs in the humiliation.

Though I am very grateful for such sites, personally, I struggle with the names - WrongPlanet/WrongVillage. Specifically their negative reinforcement that being autistic means this planet is the wrong place. I totally understand feeling alien in this world but in my books, it is the right home for every life form born on it. It's just society needs to evolve it's ways and be more accepting of neurodiversity. I prefer to focus on the positives I guess and claim this world as the right one, for everyone.

5. Don't allow an Entitled Virgin Misogynists sub-forum like we have here on WP, disguised as "Love and Dating."

As frequently as autistic people spontaneously come up with the phrase "I feel like I was born onto the wrong planet," I don't think there could have been a more appropriate name for this site. I have seen dozens of people discovering WP for the first time post: "I've been telling people that for years..."

I was one of them.

I agree with you 100% but the truth is we are outliers (what else is new  ) in feeling that way here. In October of last year I created a poll to change the name and was OVERWHELMINGLY and passionately voted down. In truth my proposed new name sucked, but I don't think a better thought out name would not have made much difference as it was the idea behind that was voted down.

Rename this site "Our Planet Also"
