I'm not sure if there is any scientific proof on the matter, but from my own personal experience ASDers have some edge over NT's. The best, and my favorite, example of this is the class of my "chess blitz" freshman year of high school. The jist of the story is that I beat roughly over fifty different challengers, some of them the same people who had already seen my deadly opening, without suffering a single defeat while using the same starting game every time. For whatever reason none of my challengers ever noticed that I moved my bishops diagonal to the starting position of the rooks and whenever they would move the pawn protecting it out of the way I would pounce and then withdrawal as quickly as I had struck. This easy to make trap removed one of the most powerful pieces usually within the first five turns of the game, a great feat to achieve. While some of the people I played were not the greatest players in the world some had given me a run for my money and if not for my deceptive tactics might have gained the upper hand early game. It wouldn't surprise me if ASDers had an edge over NT's, but again the science remains to be known on that.

Whenever I played chess in the past, I always lost every single time.

Is it sad that I also taught myself how to play?

I know how to play chess, but I've always sucked at it.

I'm not that good at chess, in fact, I don't think I even know all the rules. Sometimes I'll fire up Chess Titans when I'm really bored, but I can't say I've ever beaten the computer.

I'm actually really bad at Chess.

Although I'm proud that I know how all the pieces move.

Analytical people do better at Chess and other strategy based games.

It has very little if anything at all to do with ASDs and NT!

That is what we can hopefully find out by the means of this thread.

Doesn't look too positive for the cause so far. Trying to remember if the toughest person I've ever played was an ASDer or an NT either way he was more than a worthy opponent. Was lucky to beat him once, couldn't do it again due to circumstances sadly :(

I'm not particularly good at it, I like the game and know the rules so I guess I am better than people that don't. I suppose if I read a book on it and practiced more then I might get pretty good. Kind of want to go out and buy a chessboard now...

I don't know how to play chess, I don't think I would be good at it.
