While I am mostly at peace with being single @ 28, part of me feels torn about whether I should have a girl in my life and (possibly and eventually) get married or stay the way I am for the rest of my life and not get married.

It's a struggle, you guys. Both sides have their pros and cons (pros of staying single: More money for me, more freedom...., pros of getting married: Possibly starting a family; cons of staying single: Confined to a lifetime of eternal loneliness, cons of getting married: Money strains, sensory struggles with having kids, et al)........ what am I to do? *sigh*

Well before jumping into thinking about marriage....maybe start with dating and girlfriends, you know test the waters of not being single see how it goes. Marriage would be a pretty huge transition from being totally single, and may be hard to know if you'd be able to commit unless you try out dating and forming relationships and see how you fare. If you really did click with someone and eventually it feels right to make it official with marrige go for it....but its not really something people should jump into unless they have been together for a while and have made commitments to each other.

If you marry someone rich, you'd actually have more money than you would if you stayed single so i don't know how that's a good reason not to get married.

^ Hmm...... those kinds of people may be hard to come by. But who knows, I say? It could happen.

It is not quite a simple as making up a list of PROs and CONs and seeing how they balance out. If you meet someone who you truly fall in love with, the CONS pretty much go away or become much less important.

It seems to me that you value freedom.

Maybe staying single, for now, might be the best thing.

I got married, and I've regretted it. My wife is not a bad person; I just value my freedom too much.

You should also get yourself more established in a "career" sense.

You haven't seen anything yet. Try having a kid if you really want to lose your freedom!

One think I've learned about having a kid:

It gives you validation as a fully mature person. You have done your job as a full-grown person.

I regret not having a kid; I would have benefitted from it, no matter the hassles.

I've also considered my move to Los Angeles for years now, so there is that, as well....

What do you think I should do? I may just stay the way I am for a while.

Listen equestriatola, you probably won't believe me but i'm from the year 2020 and you made a WP post about how you were engaged and just got married. I even saw the wedding photos. I think this was in the summer of 2020?

I'm here in 2015 only tonight and I just thought I should tell you this. You're going to find and meet the love of your life in LA. Trust me on this, you're going to meet her by pure chance.

think its worthless to debate such a choice. you lack the gf to debate getting married vs staying single.
though I know how its hard to no think of things even though the choice is not a reality.

Do what Alex said: become a gold-digger and get yourself a sugar mummy.
