What are the differences between boys and girls with as?
I once read somewhere that AS boys don't have as many problems with making friends as AS girls. Obviously AS boys have problems with friendships compared to their NT peers, but are more likely to have found a small group of people they feel comfortable with when they are young adults. Also I think AS boys don't care too much of what others think of them or who they hang out with, as long as they have a few people who are nice to them. Also their interests aren't always fixed around sport. I've known NT boys to have all sorts of interests (as long as they are masculine enough) and still get accepted or can easily find peers with the same sort of interests.
But it also said that AS boys find it much harder than their NT peers and AS girls to find a girlfriend.
Then it said about AS girls finding it harder than AS boys to make friends. They feel that their peers expect more of them in friendships because of being a girl and having to have fixed interests with fashion and make up. Also there are so many double standards in girls; teenage girls and girls in their 20's can act immature in some ways but it's socially acceptable, but other immature behaviours are considered unacceptable, and if an AS girl displays any unacceptable immature behaviour, they are rejected.
But then it said that AS girls may find a boyfriend quicker than AS boys.
In my experience of being a female Aspie and knowing other male and female Aspies, that is rather true. But I can't just speak for myself, as it sounds rather generalized, and there are probably thousands of Aspies out there who that does not describe at all.

Female
Girls tend to be more shy, show more facial expressions, less of their own identity (i.e. more likely to blend and fit in), switch their special talents/obsessions much more quickly, less "weird" obsessions - more practical, will talk about feelings more, less likely to stutter, better at socialising in small amounts than males, doesn't really fit in with girls - doesn't go shopping and will not put effort into appearance.
That's just what I've read.
