Telling right from left.

Up until pretty recently (probably when I started driving, around 3 years ago), I always had to form the 'L' with my left hand to know, and I'd have to do it mentally if I was giving someone directions. I guess now it must be second nature since I don't have to think about it.

While reading through old medical records recently, I discovered that some doctor had noted that I had a bit of left-right confusion when very young. I have absolutely no memory of this though.

A good way to tell the difference is that the thumb and pointer finger of the left hand make an L for left.

Finally! An aspie issue that I do not have. Tellya wot tho: if I think consciously about "p", "q", and "b" , "d" I will get em all fouled up.

I've figured out my own left and right. I still get confused with the side-switherioo on someone else though. My directions that work are like this "MY LEFT MY RIGHT MY RIGHT MY LEFT MY LEFT STRAIGHT MY RIGHT" and so on.

Yes... I had to write L and R on my hands, I seem to recall. It took me a while to learn right from left. And if any question relating to R and L is asked, I need a moment to think usually.

I do not remeber ever having forgotten my left or right. If most ppl started called left right and right left it would be so. It's one of those social things that someone at some time said ok this is my left hand that one is my right hand. I propose Tor Dor Tor=left dor=right heeh

I occasionally get them mixed up. My Dad does all the time. I say west or east when you have to turn east or west.

Well, I never had THAT much of a problem with right/left. I just of do a mental check at some point. It is quick and imperceptible. If I was asked it 50 times in a row, it would be like check, say yes, say yes, say YES, say "ARE YOU NUTS!?!?!?"!

As for West v East? If you look north, the letters spell WE!

Assuming you are right handed, it's easy. The hand that feels right to write with is your right hand

I think I got which is my right hand and which is my left when I was 7. I actually got the hang of it based on my legs. The leg that felt weaker and I couldn't even stand on, let alone hop was my left lol.

Although, to this day I still randomise the directions when someone tells me to turn left or right. My record is getting 6 turns correctly in a row.

yes i for a long time didn't even now my lefts form right and now i am a little slow with it
