I was 10 and there was a hormonal problem with me too, until my 20's. I bled all the time and was put on birth control pills until they told me what they were, then I wasn't given them anymore. :x It was awful, like hemorrhaging and I didn't have a break for years.

Eleven, I believe. But they've never been regular, which I'm glad of. My mother's having my hormones tested this summer, though--eep.

You could just have an immature lining. That's what I have - I usually skip bleeding every other month (sometimes two months) while still having the pain associated with it.

Oh, good, an explanation that doesn't involve a blood test. And since I normally have painless ones anyway, that would explain why they don't appear to pop up...

Nevertheless, she wants me tested for lupus too. :/ (She may or may not have it, and she's worried about my face, which she thinks is displaying the "butterfly rash".) So I'm going to get poked anyway.

So I got it on Christmas Day, two months before I turned 18. Yeah, thanks Mum.

I do wonder why I was so late but at the time I was glad of it.

Carrie White (fictional character) got her first period at 16 :P hope it was ok to say this, just a stupid comment :P

:lmao: Sorry, I don't mean to scare you away, but that was hilarious....

I was 12, almost 13. It started the same hour my great aunt died.

Mine are, like, quad-annually, though. 8O

I think I was 10 when I got mine. No one else my age that I knew had it, and at the time it seemed traumatic. I don't envy Carrie, though. :lmao:

I think 12. I was on painkillers, so it wasn't so bad until I had to stop using them.

I was 11 when I first got my period...I was at school in 6th grade and there was this horrid fishy smell to me and I couldn't understand what it bloody was, everytime I went to the toilet I didn't see any blood! however I found out what the "smell" was when I got home...yes I went to the toilet and finally there was blood, a little shocked I called out to Mum and said "Mum! I'm bleeding" top note she comes in, has a look and hands me a menstral pad and says "Welcome to womanhood Selena" the worst was to come (for me anyway) she serves up dinner and guess what I found....a horrid piece of LIVER :eew: and her excuse for serving this horrible stuff was "it's good for replacing iron" so I attempted to eat it after nearly drowning it with almost a whole bottle of tomato sauce...mind you it made absolutely no difference to the flavour if you can call it that! so Mum decided not to give me anymore liver and served my an extra helping of pumpkin which went down much better than the liver did.

Selena :)

Got my first one at 12, and had my last one at 17. I have premature ovarian failure.
