So I got a call from an upscale bed and breakfast and had an interview today. Another candidate and I are both going at the same time tomorrow and the owner will see how we do. This is a good opportunity and I hope I don't screw it up.

Not bad. As long as you don't have to wear one of those hats!

Hahaha! When I was 17 I worked at a restaurant that made me wear a kerchief over my hair. I hated it at the time, but I guess it was a good disguise.

If it's a second interview, you're probably pretty evenly matched with this other person in skills and experience. I would not give a definite answer for what amount of money you would settle for, only say that you're open to negotiate. Back when I was a manager, we often screened out people at this stage when we'd ask them what salary they wanted and they'd come back with something ridiculous. I didn't like asking people that because often they weren't from this area and didn't know what was a fair salary, but it was an HR question and I couldn't prevent them from asking.

She didn't bring up pay, so I didn't either, but I would assume minimum wage. The other candidate had way more experience than me, I compensated by enthusiastically learning from her.
It went okay and she said she would contact me in a couple of days to go over a schedule.
This place is so fancy, I am totally intimidated.
