Hey Gang,

Ok so you guys know I got a job at a college book store so this afternoon my "job placement specialist" called me with a few leads I didn't tell him I already have a job at first as I wanted to hear what he wanted to say so his job leads consisted of customer service jobs in the city (mainly retail) and catch this he had a "great lead" for me a garment inspector<GASP> someone whom looks closely at clothing and hangs them up on hangers.

I laughed a little (but in all honesty I was really offended by that in that he thinks of me as somebody whom can't do anything except look at clothing and hang crap up & that this is perhaps on the same level of Goodwill) so he said "would that be something that you would like to do?! Maybe we can set something up and practice a mock interview" to which I finally said No, I'm employed now I did an interview on my own and got a job at a college book store on my own... to which his whole demeanor changed "Oh you didn't let me know you had an interview set up that's something I should have known about so that we could have practiced a mock interview" to which I said I didn't need any help with that so then he tired to get information out of me about what it is I'll be doing how much I'm going to get paid what my hours will be and who my supervisor will be & their phone number well needless to say I didn't give him any information and just told him that I'll be in negotiations about salaries hours and what my job title is then he finally asked me (for the 100th time) "how long it will be until you get your diploma" to which I finally said bluntly I'm not going to rush my education I will get it when I get it to which his response was "oh ok be-because you really need to get it" DUH!

In all honesty guys I'm not going to tell him sh!t he nor VR has done anything to help me but rather talked a lot of crap and threw remedial jobs in my way. so I have a feeling that my time with VR and related entities are coming to an end in fact my contact at a local TV station whom I met once (but talked with many times) gave me a better job leads then my "job placement specialist".

As always comments & suggestions are welcomed.

Annd I just got a follow up e-mail from my job placement yutz He said "that the garment inspector job is located in a area that is 5 towns away" (and not in the best of areas) "and that it's labor intensive upon further review." so I'm guessing he's really not paying attention to what he's sending me just grabbing straws.

I would concentrate on the bookstore job. VR is in the past.....unless you don't do well with the bookstore job.

Well played not to give Mr. VR any info on the bookstore job.

I once almost did not get a job because a headhunter I had once spoken with jumped into the middle of things and almost harpooned the whole deal. He was angling to get some sort of credit for the placement. Sometimes those sorts have their own performance metrics to live up to.

Hey guys,

My job placement person is gone he's no longer in the picture So I don't have to worry about having smoke blown up my ass
Marky9, I'm not going to give VR any info other then what I've previously said that I am working at a book store. I don't want them taking credit for something that I've done on my own. Kraftiekortie, the bookstore will be the center of my concentration....until classes starts up for the fall (a week or two from now) the only thing is it's a temp so I'm using this opportunity to help recoup the financial losses incurred when I use to hang with somebody I thought whom was a friend.
