Do you ever doubt your diagnosis?

I've been officially diagnosed for almost a year now. I was diagnosed by a specialist after a very thorough and long assessment, and even though I know the diagnosis is correct I can't help but worrying about it sometimes. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm not really your stereotypical "aspie" and sometimes when I manage to do something the sterotypical "aspie" isn't "supposed to be able to do" I feel like maybe I'm a fraud. It's stupid, I know.

I'm very aware we're all different, that we all experience different combinations of symptoms/trait and that we experience them to different degrees. I know that, but my mind still messes with me sometimes. It makes me a little anxious. Will the doubt ever go away?

Hi, Rebbieh!
That´s normal.Take a look back in WP-posts and see how often someone asks the same. I was dxéd two years ago and only recently, by the help of a trained cognitive psychologist have I started to see it myself - but I´m still surprised and still learning.
We have only tried being ourselves. Any person will think, that their cognitive experience is like anyone elses, so recognizing your difference from mainstream is a slow process - and not two aspies/auties are the same.
No one has ALL the traits and many desriptions are very limiting.
Believe your psych and don´t fall for the "imposter syndrome". :)

Oh sorry, I didn't mean to ask a questions others often ask. Sorry.

Anyway, I do believe my psychologist. I really do. My brain just messes with me sometimes, which is annoying.

Oh, and by "imposter-syndrome", I meant the belief, that you´re a fraud, - like Dustin Hofmann, who thinks, that he is a bad actor and just cheats people into believing, that he is great 8O
He told so himself.
