If anyone wants to send some actual paper-and-pen letters, I'm in. I keep in touch with a couple of people that way already, it just works better for me than phone calls or social media.
Regular old-fashioned hey-how-you-doing mail is good for me. I usually just write a couple of pages of whatever casual thoughts or news there is, maybe some postcards or drawings. Nothing super serious or fancy, I just like sending and getting mail. I like hearing about other people's lives, like I'm some kind of amateur anthropologist hermit.

PM if you like. I'll just delete this if I get a load of porno spam. Unless it's particularly good. :jester:

I still think a 1,000 journals project for WP would be awesome, then it's like a collective penpals group. We are the Collective.
Come on people, I'll start one and start posting it out if anyone wants in!

Sooo, I'll volunteer to start a WP circular penpals journal if anyone's still keen, and it can be sent out to whoever's interested in contributing. Just need a mailing address which can me PM'd. I'm not a crazy stalker serial killer, I promise.

Have you guys been successful doing this?
I like the PM but I would not really respond via mail. I barely able to send cards to family.

Hi folks,
have there been any developments regarding a penpal group?
I only joined the forum and am looking for people to talk to.

Greetings

Bumping-up discussion thread.

Anybody locate penpals through existing trusted resources listing penpal links?

In the 'Social Skills and Making Friends Forum' the discussion thread 'Any Experiences With Penpals?' (LINK) discusses how experiences with penpal correspondence might encourage the development of friendships.

I personally would enjoy having a pen pal!

Hi all....

A couple of adults on the autism spectrum came up to me recently to see what existed out there for adults and young adults on the autism spectrum with regard to penpal sites. I am in the conceptual phase of creating a website that is geared towards adults and young adults on the autism spectrum (and their parents/caregivers).

Does anyone know of any penpal sites that are geared toward adults and young adults on the autism spectrum? I don't want to "reinvent the wheel" if such penpal sites exist. By the way, I am an adult (48) on the autism spectrum.

Thanks,
Scott

Story on penpals - (story title shortened) 'Return of the Penpal..........'

The U.K. has a greater interest in penpals than the U.S. - hence a U.K. story:

Would it be too weird to exchange hand-written letters via electronic means? Like, scanned or photographed. I love the idea of pen and paper but mail (the regular physical mail) costs a lot, especially to send to other countries, and involves going somewhere pysically to post the letter. Besides it's not reliable.

Drop me a private message if you're interested.

Penpal groups within the arts communities e.g,. painting, drawing, sculpture might offer those important experiences - experience within arts programs is especially favorable!

Enclosed is a LINK of listings of penpals within arts programs:
