Rare genetic mutations suspected in half of autism cases

Note the repeated use of the word "devistating". Seems not much has changed at the Cold Spring Harbor Labratory since the days the place was a leading researchlab for eugenics.

I have some kind of unusual genetic mutation according to tests and bloodwork I had done periodically growing up...and I have thought for quite a while it could play some role in my autism. But I certainly do not want to be 'genetically altered' in an attempt to rid me of said mutation that sounds far too risky.
