I always liked the series and the man.

A ruthless and ridiculous society and one true human.

Number Six was cold, intellectual, aloof, different - and he knew it and was not about to conform, arrogant - with good reason.

What wasn't to like about him? Was he an aspie?

Did / do you like "The Prisoner"?

I vaguely remember it.

I sort of liked it. Pat McGoohan is wonderful, but a wee bit too hard-nosed, though considering what he's going through...

A TV show that forces viewers to make their own conclusions about WTF is going on. You see it a few times nowadays, like in Evangelion.

Hi,

the village featured in the Prisoner is Portmeirion in North Wales.

I have been there several times and my cousin is the Manager of the Cafe there!

Last summer She got married in the 'Town Hall' (where No 2 lived) and the reception was held in the white building down by the sea (now a hotel).

the place is both weird and wonderful.

No6's house is now a gift shop selling prisoner stuff.
Bye,
Davey in the UK

I haven't seen "The Prisoner" in over 30 years.
I might run over to Border's Books and buy the DVD series.
I might also get "Secret Agent" aka "Danger Man" that starred Patrick McGoohan.

To Davey and ritchie,

Too cool. I would love a pilgrimage to the Portmeirion! I doubt I will ever have the coin.

I plan on a set of DVDs too, and have several Danger Man episodes on VHS.

I've heard of that movie. I just haven't seen it. I want to see it, though. :)

Cockney Rebel made the sixth answer on this thread. She is the honourary Prisoner!

I gice her a black suit with white piping, an Austin Mini Moke, and a Lotus 7.

Supposed prequels to The Prisoner.

Maybe. Maybe not. Around the same time The Prisoner was running,
there was a Secret Agent movie called "Koroshi" which showed Pat McGoohan's
character going up against a cult of neo-fascists in Japan.

Actually "Danger Man" was first. The show was still successful when McGoohan suddenly announced that he was through with it.

He imediately began work on "The Prisoner."

Question is whether Number Six is John Drake.
