... and why is it your favourite word?

Right now, mine is quinquefolia.

It is part of the latin name Parthenocissus quinquefolia (Virginia creeper, a plant) and it means "five-leaf". I just like the way it looks on a page, and how it sounds in my head. Also I love the logic of what it means, it's poetry in one word!

I like lunaric, which is a word I made up to refer to something that is moon-like or beautiful like the moon.

How about "lunescence"? It's the entire essence of the moon, both concrete and abstract.

Superfluous. I like the way it simply rolls off the tongue. Plus, it seems these days that most of the things people say to me are inconsequential anyway.

Surreptitious. It even sounds sneaky!

I also like the word "streetcar", it's something about how they feel in my mouth or something, or how they make my mouth feel when I read them in my head. Strange.

Approbation. I like the sound and sentiment behind it.

Here's an article that explains it better:

It's the Hero's Journey, Kraftie!
Claymore--an epic Scottish broadsword and also a half human half dragon warrior in one of my favourite manga.

I like emphyreal. It's got such an airy, lovely feel to it. I also like aether a lot for the same reason.

How would you feel if "aether" was "ether", like it is in the US?

I like "foetus" myself, but not "fetus." "Oesophagus," but not "esophagus."
