To me it's just a huge turn off. I always cringe when I hear my name. I can't imagine hearing it in bed. I've also heard that women get extremely mad if a guy says the wrong name. Why don't people just avoid names?

I can't remember my partner and I ever saying each other's name in bed.
Why talk at all when there's other things you could be doing?

I really don't think many people call out names in bed, maybe in an earlier era when things were more risqué.

I can't remember ever using my girlfriends name in a private (let alone intimite) situation; there's no need to.
I will use her name around others, obviously, to clarify whom my next comment is aimed at or to draw attention, but when we are alone, there's no need for names.

You have a pretty name. I wouldn't call it out in an intimate moment, though.

I've used my partner's name before but only a few times. I don't need to hear my name, I prefer the other sounds even though that is weird to say. I guess it just depends on preference

I think it may be more common in porn. IE "Your the best teacher Mr. Stern"

DevilKisses, nothing about sex really makes sense from a non-horny perspective And DevilKisses, the physical act of sex is weird and gross and therefore full of potential embarrassment even while it may feel extremely exciting. So saying a name, DevilKisses, is way of reaffirming a sense of intimacy, that you're doing this together and you can feel free to enjoy it.

Names don't make sense when I'm horny either.

What's so gross about sex?

I've heard that some girls will call their man "daddy" during the act... that just seems really creepy to me. :P I mean, they even pointed it out in a Durex commercial they ran here.

I'd think she's calling her daddy so he comes with his shotgun and punishes me appropriately for soiling his daughter and the honor of the family.

I don't know.. I'm not much for communicating in the moment. I don't get it, personally, it's all awkward.. I thought people only did that in porn.

The good thing is if you're at the point where you're having regular sex with someone you should be close enough to tell them you don't like the "name" stuff. I've heard some like to hear their name during sex because of how intimate and personal the act is. In the end its all preference.
