My grandmother died and my mother gave me her ring. It's a huge sapphire surrounded by diamonds, that I cannot wear. It's annoying. I should be grateful and think of my dear grandma when I see it, but instead it just arouses negative feelings. I would rather have had a painting for the wall or something else I could look at and remember her pleasantly by.

I wear a skeleton round my neck sometimes.
I bought it at Manchester Museum.

I had my ears pierced when I was 8 or 9, but I found the idea of actually putting the earrings in to be repulsive, so I let them close up. I wear necklaces, but only infrequently, as I hate repeating outfits and the dress code doesn't allow a lot of what I own.

I love jewelry, but they have to be comfortable and elegant. :) It's possible to find all those qualities. Small earrings can be perfectly comfortable, bracelets that are smooth on the inside, necklaces with the right kind of chain or smooth silk cord are all cool. Beads have to be smooth and knotted between them so they wouldn't pinch hair. I don't like scratchy or pointy parts (i.e. pave diamonds) on my jewelry. I took a few jewelry making classes and did lot of cool stuff a few years ago. I gave most of them away, though as they're not really my style.

My mom tried to get me to wear jewelry when I was a kid, but I hate the sensation of rings, bracelets, etc. I can handle necklaces now and that's it.

I also don't have my ears pierced because I've always been too scared to get it done, so no earrings for me.
