Tics when learning a foreign language?

I notice when learning Japanese and doing listening practice (often listening to a show I like), I would get an itch that is related to some sort of sound I heard. Early on, I developed a tic for the 'r' sound from Ranma, when Akane called out Ranma's name. It got me to want to silently repeat her calling out Ranma's name (since I didn't want to embarrass myself), like doing so scratched an itch.
Much later, the word "megane," meaning "eyeglasses," stuck out to me, intonation and all. It got me to want to say it and think it over and over again, like doing so scratched an itch.
Has anyone else had this come up when learning a foreign language?
