Saying I am not the biggest fan of the holiday season is putting it very moderately indeed. Having said that one thing I've wanted to do for a long time is take a swim in the sea on boxing day (There are a number of spots over the country where people get together to do this each year, so I'm not the only fool! Though I just went for a solo dip at my local seafront, with my parent's for transport and on camera duty). I've always been too unwell with my eating disorder since I first wanted to do it several years ago but this year is the first year I've been well enough and with the milder temperatures we've been experiencing here in England, I seized the moment and took the plunge :D.

Anyone else mad/brave enough? (<--delete as you see fit  )

I just keep with walking....
On these days I get my gear on and go walking through snow, rain or cold
Unfortunately this year it is sort of nice weather
But people labeled me for bad, for walking in terrible weather.

Bad in what way? I think I'd actually go insane if I couldn't get outside, even for a short walk, whatever the weather.

Euhhh, mad, I made a typo in my post (sorry).
Especially after days with lots of family and social interaction I need to go outside.

Well that's not mad to me at all. Sounds essential to me!

Here it's done on New Year's Day and is called "The polar bear swim." I've never done it & no plans to do it this year... will be recovering from parties the night before in order to party that night, too.

Yes, it's also done on New Years day here too in some places. I am kind of considering it but it was about 14oC on boxing day and it's due to be half that on New Years day.. I'm not sure how determined I am to do it again yet!
