I've got a few, pretty much everything by Anne Rice is close for me, which is a little odd 'cause I dont' subscribe to gothic culture at all, but I love her.

I also love the Troy Game series by Sarah Douglass and The Dirt (the Motley Crue story).

But Right now I'd have to say my absolute favourite book ever is God's Concubine by Sarah Douglass.

You?

I really loved the Rama series by Gentry Lee and Aurthur Clark. Loved The Dark is Rising when I was growing up. Oh, and I loved Asimov's Foundation series, especially the early ones. Countless other books I've loved too, but those might be some of my favorites.

I folded down the corner of every other page of that, to remind me that there are in fact worse mothers out there than my own.
