Agreed on the autistic burnout. This can make it appear as if autism is getting worse and has happened to me, from being hyper high achieving to basically nonfunctional, because of that reason. Ditto on interrelated conditions - if you have a breakdown it makes autism much more pronounced. Also, it seems autism can become more pronounced as we age due to life and social expectations heightening and becoming more complex. Changes on what passed for acceptable behaviour as a child or teen, to what is expected of an adult, can make it seem worse.
