The whole constitution thing applies to every presidential candidate.
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
The birthers in 2008 and in 2016 appear to misunderstand what a natural born citizen is. It is not necessary to be born on United States soil to be a natural born citizen. If one parent is a citizen, then the child is a natural born citizen of the United States and eligible to be president if they meet the other conditions (age 35, 14 years a resident).
If you are complaining that some people appear to be inconsistent in their concern for the constitution, then I agree with you there.
So...you're saying that even if they somehow had proven that Obama was indeed born in Kenya that he would still would have been "born an American citizen" (because his mom was American)?
