I've never encountered a shiny in the wild. :(

have you tried one of the methods to shiny hunt?

And nice to see everyones replies, i came across a shiny poochyena a couple of days ago :)

A tip for hunting for shiny Feebas fish under the bridge on Route 119 during the daytime :)

I have yet to try the foreign Ditto + regional Pokemon = baby Shiny trick, but hopefully it will work.

Many of my shinies came from GTS since it's inception.

I have a few Shiny legendaries from GTS (mostly Japanese).
I have a Shiny Clefairy from GTS (Japanese)
I have lots of Shiny legendaries from U.S. events (I have lots of them).

I acquired a U.S. Shiny Cressilia from trading with someone
I have a few Shiny Eeveelutions from mainly breeding and trading (not GTS).
I have a shiny Braviary (the bald eagle pokemon) from breeding.

X has been good to me for Shinies.

Though for those who don't know, use the Masuada Effect for breeding for the best chance of breeding a Shiny.
That means one parent has to be foreign (get a foreign ditto).

Gen VI has a normal Shiny rate of 1 in 4,096
Gen VI Shiny Charm cuts it down to 1 in 1365.3
Gen VI Masuada Effect is it increased to 1 in 1,365.3

Using the Shiny Charm with the Masuada Effect is supposed to cut it much further in Gen VI.

Though it is all still completely utterly random with all of this too.

The only shiny I've ever had was the red Gyarados from the Lake of Rage.

I saw a shiny Voltorb in Leafgreen, but I thought it was a glitch and killed it. :x

^The same thing happened to me with a Shiny Golbat in Pearl. ARGH!
Yes, I'm planning to do Skitty or Ralts first.
