That would explain a lot of things, is he like the sock sprite?

I was thinking, when I get chance I'm going to write some sort of document analysing the questions and my answers on the aspie test. I think some of the questions are a bit silly, I need some clarification on what they actually mean. If I explain my own answers properly, or at least write them down in an organised fashion it would be a good starting point for further analysis and to ensure I'm doing the test properly.

Great introduction!

I'm going to have to take that Aspie test and see what it says about me. As you mentioned in my thread, you and I may be half Aspie. My only concern is that you say you want to know what's "wrong" with you. You sound great to me! Your reluctance to start a new job certainly strikes me as "normal." (Of course, maybe that's because I'm also an Aspie. ) I think it takes most people a while to get settled into a new job, with new duties, cirmcumstance and people. So I think most people will understand if you're a bit nervous in the beginning. Don't let it get to you; you know it's just a temporary condition (the nervousness) you have to get through.

Good luck!

Thanks, it's not that I feel there is something wrong with me as such, I probably could have worded that better. I feel fine, it feels natural to me, this is the way I am. It is just that there is something different about me compared to other people. I don't socialise like other people do, I struggle to know how to respond to people in conversation and I struggle a bit with facial expression. I can't fake a laugh, for example, I just manage to force a smile. People say I'm boring, but it is just we have different interests. Other people like to talk about sport & chitchat, I prefer to talk about science & technology and meaningful subjects. I wish I could just stay at home, it makes me so uncomfortable being in social situations. I'm ok around people I know, I'll talk then. For example, I went to do A-level maths at nightschool, I thought I might make some friends (not the best idea, I think they were all aspies, I should have done biology again or a RSA typing course, I might have met somebody then). Nobody spoke to me on the maths course apart from the teacher and I didn't speak to anybody else. Everybody just kept themselves to themselves. I left after about 6 months because I thought I could do this at home instead of travelling 8 miles to goto college, there wasn't any difference to me I can teach myself anyway.

Thanks for your comments.

My best wishes to you.

Mark

I couldn't have written it better myself, it describes me perfectly, but misses a few things out.

High Functioning Autism 8)

Quest over, I'll be off to the doctors to I get my label asserted and give them one on their statistics. It reads good on wikipedia but I don't like the sound of it tbh, surely somebody could have come up with something sounding better, I like the 'High Functioning' bit that sounds cool and describes me well 8)
