NASA and NOAA just released a report confirming what many have already predicted: That 2015 was the hottest year on record.

NOAA wrote:
During 2015, the average temperature across global land and ocean surfaces was 1.62°F (0.90°C) above the 20th century average. This was the highest among all 136 years in the 1880–2015 record, surpassing the previous record set last year by 0.29°F (0.16°C) and marking the fourth time a global temperature record has been set this century. This is also the largest margin by which the annual global temperature record has been broken. Ten months had record high temperatures for their respective months during the year. The five highest monthly departures from average for any month on record all occurred during 2015.

Anyway, this will likely serve as a source of frustration for the Republicans up to the 2016 Presidential election, given that the two front-runners for the GOP nomination, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, are both adamant climate change deniers.

And when we take a closer look, the GOP field in general tends to do very poorly when it comes to the accuracy of their climate change positions.

In fact, the top 4 polling candidates in the GOP primary so far (Trump, Cruz, Rubio and Carson in descending order) are also the bottom 4 candidates when it comes to the scientific accuracy of the climate change positions

And the 3 GOP candidates with the most accurate posititions (Bush, Christie and Kasich) are polling at a lower level combined (10.6 %) than Marco Rubio (11.6 %).
