Has anyone ever worked during a snowstorm?

I know there's a brutal snowstorm that has struck the northeast USA today.

So has any retail workers ever had to work in a snowstorm? If you have difficulties or fears commuting to work during a snowstorm, will you managers get mad at you or what????

I know that healthcare workers must work during snowstorms.

My wife, a nurse, has worked during snowstorms, doing double shifts.

She's not working today, though.

During a blizzard in 1985 in the Buffalo, NY area,
my brother talked me into
delivering newspapers for him
walking outside, door-to-door,
on his paper route
while he stayed inside eating potato chips, drinking pop,
and watching cartoons.

I enjoyed being outside in the snow storm, actually.
There I was, dancing down the middle of the street
like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz,
singing,
"We're off to see the blizzard ... "

You can tell I love snow.

I lived in New England for 4 winters.

If you're driving, slow down and you may be able to get there and you may not. Need zen patience either way. Carry a blanket, water, something to pee in, in the car just in case.

And it's feel and texture throughout. Similar safety if you're walking or using public transportation. If you can't make it, just be matter-of-fact with your employee. You boss will either accept it or not. And if you can't make it trying in a reasonable, good faith effort, you're not likely to be the only one.

Traveling in the morning, less high stakes. Traveling in the evening, more important to be prepared if you get stranded.
