Most places from Washington, DC to at least New York City will be blanketed with at least 18 inches of snow.

How are you folks who live in this area dealing with it?

I, myself, will have to dig two cars out of the snowdrifts. Otherwise, I'm okay.

I guess it's just something you gotta deal with!

I can dig it. :D

I'm not. Missed me! :D

However, I worry about WP members who are in that area.

I live in an area where the power wires are underground---so power outages are unlikely.

That's a good thing, but the roads will still be closed.

Surprisingly, the roads aren't closed here. The subways are still running, though I'd have to walk 2.5 miles to get to one.

My main problem is digging out our cars.

Only a dusting so far--I can still see the grass. I plan to make some French toast!
I have a two stage snowblower that will easily clear the sidewalk for the entire block.
And a pair of snowshoes :D

I have a long driveway, so digging out that much snow is a nightmare. Last year we got that much snow at a slow pace. So I quickly shoveled 1 inch of snow over a dozen times. I figured it was easier to shovel 1 inch almost 20 times than 20 inches in one go.

I was so exhausted afterwards. I thought it would never stop snowing.

Now they're forecasting up to 30 inches. The roads are closed as of 2:30 PM.

I hate how all of the news outlets are treating this like a Category 5 hurricane and that it's armageddon. That only makes people panic even more and do stupid things. And we are going to hear about winter storm Jonas Brothers until the very last snow flurry falls and evaporates. ugh.. It's almost like we're not allowed to have a winter storm in the middle of winter. This isn't pandemonium  , It's simply sane and logical.

We are up to 3 inches. Almost forgot to put butter in the pan when making the French toast--can't do French cooking without butter but it turned out good! :D
