to my conscious knowledge, I have not in any past life been a king or kingmaker or celebrity of any kind, but I have had recurring dreams where I was a playboy cad who committed suicide by drowning, or a swarthy thug.

I've had people try telling me what I was in a past life, anywhere from a priest of the Roman mysteries or a bard in the British Isles to a Giordano Bruno type character in the Renaissance who was burned at the stake - I haven't had any such recall. Needless to say I take these claims with a big enough grain of salt to not even structure my life with them. My guess is that if it is there, is happening, and we can't see it, might be that at this point it's none of our business asking.

Mark Stavish actually had a really good point in talking on this - ie. not to dwell on any of it, that you can be sure that who you are right now is the best you've ever been and that you won't really have much to learn by looking back let alone obsessing over it. Makes a certain kind of sense.

jimmy webb wrote this song based on his dreams-

I was a highwayman
Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
But I am still alive

I was a sailor
I was born upon the tide
And with the sea I did abide
I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still

I was a dam builder
Across the river deep and wide
Where steel and water did collide
A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado
I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below
They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound
But I am still around
I'll always be around and around and around and around and around

I fly a starship
Across the Universe divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again

Robert E. Howard, the creator of Conan the Barbarian, and the father of American Heroic Fantasy, personally believed in reincarnation, and wrote more than one story about the subject.

Belief is not proof.

granted, but if it makes life nicer, then enough people will make do without the proof.

I don't really believe in reincarnation the thought of being a person all the time wouldn't that be boring, if there was such thing wouldn't it be better to be all different types of life forms like starting off as the smallest creature up to the largest.

I've been curious about this since I was a child and first heard of the idea. However, not one person in the history of humanity has ever been able to actually show that we are anything other than animals who think so highly of ourselves that each individual should be preserved throughout time, past when our body dies. While that may sound dismal to some, from my point of view it suggests that we should live each day as if it is something amazing and wonderful, never to be repeated and in quite short supply.

Thank you for this beautiful post. :D.

Yes!
Your thought is also correct thinking to counteract circular thinking which creates (what business people like to call) "analysis paralysis" (which makes you unable to make decisions). We are often forced to "over think" this and other issues. Your thought provides a ready way out of the "loop." :D

for some daggone reason the video won't post. :x

It seems to me as though I've been upon this stage before
And juggled away the night for the same old crowd
These harlequins you see with me, they too have held the floor
As here once again they strut and they fret their hour
I see those half-familiar faces in the second row
Ghost-like with the footlights in their eyes
But where or when we met like this last time I just don't know
It's like a chord that rings and never dies
For infinity.

And now these figures in the wings with all their restless tunes
Are waiting for someone to call their names
They walk the backstage corridors and prowl the dressing-rooms
And vanish to specks of light in the picture-frames
But did they move upon the stage a thousand years ago
In some play in Paris or Madrid?
And was I there among them then, in some travelling show
And is it all still locked inside my head
For infinity.

And some of you are harmonies to all the notes I play;
Although we may not meet still you know me well
While others talk in secret keys and transpose all I say
And nothing I do or try can get through the spell
So one more time we'll dim the lights and ring the curtain up
And play again like all the times before
But far behind the music you can almost hear the sounds
Of laughter like the waves upon the shores
Of infinity.

(LINK) The late Roger Ebert (the movie critic) had argued that reincarnation is possible from a "scientific, rationalist point of view."

Ebert's perspectives are very similar to my viewpoints - that is thoughtful perspectives on reincarnation are best interpreted through scientific contexts.

Is is possible that long term memory abilities common with the Autism Spectrum (memories from decades-ago) might provide insights as to whether or not reincarnation exists?

'Theory' is the operative word.

When joking, sure why not. When serious, not at all.

if quantum energies theories prevail and time is happening all at once , possibly.
And if energy can only be transformed but not destroyed...... and allowing that such a thing as the ideal of reincarnation exists . And taking into consideration the case of "Bridy Murphy" famous
reincarnation was heavily verified :chin: . Just based on these ideas . It causes me to to wonder .

A step deeper into this if dendrite and axioms use minute electrical impulses to operate in the brain
those same impulse make up the basis for energy , that is measureable. using spect scans .
Then possibly that energy goes somewhere in some format ? :shaking2:
A step further maybe if Aspies have a higher density of neural connectivity in there brains . Perhaps the aspie brain could be responsible for a higher amount of this same kind of energy. ? 8O
